Halloween season is in full swing! If you are lucky enough to live in the Lakewood Ranch area, there are endless ways to make the most of the fall and Halloween season. Whether you are single, retired, or raising a family there are plenty of events in the area to choose from to add a little sugar and spice to the season. Here is a collection of a few of our favorite Halloween events around Lakewood Ranch and Sarasota.

Rocky Horror Picture Show Spooktacular!

If you are a fan of the Rocky horror picture show then this is an event that simply can’t be missed! Come watch the phenomenal shadow cast perform in celebration of 43 years of the Rocky horror picture show. This promises to be a night that you and your friends will surely never forget.  Looking for a way to enjoy a little extra time together as a family this fall? Come on out to the Free Family Fall Festival being held at the Lakewood Ranch Family YMCA on Lakewood Ranch Boulevard on Friday, October 25 from 6 to 8 PM. This fun fall festival is a wonderful way for you to come together as a family, bolster your children’s imagination, and celebrate the Fall season. Of course, there will be plenty of games and activities including a moonwalk to entertain the kids. Costumes are highly encouraged. There will also be plenty of refreshments to choose from. Fancy yourself an expert pumpkin carver? Be sure to enter the first annual pumpkin carving contest. Do you make the best apple pie in town? The apple pie contest will be right up your alley. This is a fantastic way to kick off the weekend together as a family.

BOOFest

 BooFest is one of the most beloved family-friendly events of the fall here in Lakewood Ranch. Gather your family and friends to come out and enjoy local dancers perform on the art and soul dance performing arts stage. In addition to the dance performances, you will be able to enjoy the spooky balloon artist. Make sure the little ones bring along their trick-or-treat bags or pumpkins to collect treats that will be given out from local sponsors and vendors. There will be Spooktacular music playing throughout the event adding to the fun and family-friendly atmosphere. There will also be a costume show so be prepared to show off your Halloween look. To upgrade your experience at boo fest, purchase a VIP ticket which includes a VIP parking pass with free shuttle to the event, food prepared by USFSM, beer or wine, and our spooky punch, and the kid's experience.

Halloween Trail Carnival promises to be one of the highlights of you your children’s autumn season and certainly shouldn’t be missed if you are looking for creative ways to enjoy more family time this fall.

 Black Diamond Burlesque's Halloween Show

 For the ghouls that just want to have fun this Halloween come on out to the Black Diamond Burlesque show at Grove restaurant on Saturday, October 26 at 7:30 PM. Sarasota is Premier burlesque review is proud to present "Ghost Stories: Things that go Bump & Grind in the Night". Your $30 ticket includes a night full of glittery cocktails, tales of local hunting, and the signature stripteases that Black Diamond Burlesque is known for. The stage is big but the show is far bigger so purchase your tickets now before they are all gone. Although there is not a bad seat in the house, seating is first-come first-serve so get there right when the doors open at 7:30.

2019 Boo Run 5k & Boo Dash

 If you are looking for a fun way to stay fit this fall then come on out for the 2019 Boo Run 5K and Boo Dash which will be held right on Main Street in Lakewood Ranch on the morning of Saturday, October 26. This is a family-friendly event made up of over 1,200 runners, walkers, and dog walkers. In addition to the walk and run events, there will also be a costume contest and after-party featuring all your favorite local vendors including Tervis Tumblers. This is a great way to get some extra exercise and have fun with friends and family while getting a little extra mileage out of that costume.
